We have a lot of busy bodies in our generation. From the look
of things people are busy but the real question is busy with what? A research
carried out showed that people spend an average of six hours every day on TV
and social media. It sounds ridiculous and yet it is true. Your worst enemy
could be your phone, TV and other gadgets in between that rob you of the most
precious asset you have- your time!
The media are conditioning you for lack of consciousness.
They show poverty, struggle, drama, disease, crime, drugs, fighting, arguments,
problems, catastrophes, murders, negativity. Remember what you focus on grows..
No thought lives in your head rent-free. Each thought you entertain will either
be an investment or a cost. It will either move you toward happiness and
success or away from it. It will either empower you or disempower you. That’s
why it is imperative you choose what you feed your mind on wisely.
The media are conditioning you to spend all you earn, and
getting more into debt, to “keep up with the joneses”, buying things you don’t
need to impress people you don’t care about! The media are conditioning you to
never be satisfied with who you are or what you’ve got!
The media are also disconnecting you from your true source of
power, and any sense of inner peace or spirituality. There is enough bad news
out there in that you don’t have to go too far to find it. Simply switch on the
news and you will have your moods dampened in a very short time. The truth is
that the news is depressing and TV reality shows are far from your actual
reality. It is meant to keep you glued while the actual real people are busy
strategizing on how to get your money flowing in their direction.
To become a self-made millionaire requires focus and a lot of
work. Self-made millionaires would never dream of throwing their precious time
away on watching hours and hours of television. If you are watching 4 hours of
TV per day, that’s 1,460 hours a year, i.e. 61 days a year (2 whole months)
wasted on watching television. Can you imagine what you could create in that
time?
Think about all the important tasks you have been postponing
saying you don’t have time. Is it really an issue of time or prioritizing?
Whatever we consider to be important, we make time for it. You can have the
time for the things that you choose to make time for. The point I am making is
that get rid of your TV if you must and reduce social media time so as to focus
on building your business and your wealth instead.
Most people understand
we are creatures of habit, but what they don’t realize is that there are
actually two kinds of habits: doing habits and not-doing habits. Everything you
are not doing right now, you are in the habit of not doing. The only way to
change these not-doing habits into doing habits is to do them. If you are truly
serious about success, prove it, and get down to action.
