“You can get everything you want in
life if you just help enough other people get what they want.”—Zig Ziglar
We live in a highly individualistic world, where most people
are concerned about themselves. It is natural to look out for yourself but that
is a limitation if that is all you ever do. Life is more meaningful when you
are able to add value to the lives of others. You were created to make a
difference and that difference is a matter of choice. You can live a
significant life or you can choose to live a basic life.
Your success in life will be in direct proportion to the
problems that you help solve for others. People will only pay you for the
problems that you solve not the ones you create. When you commit your life to
serving others, you unlock a world of opportunities to live a significant life.
There are enormous ways you can be of service to others and all it takes is a
commitment to serve. From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep,
you have endless opportunities to be of service to others.
You have the capacity to be a blessing to others; that awareness
alone can unlock great opportunities to be outstanding. The more you serve, the
more opportunities you create for significance. The universe gives you back
that which you give to others in a multiplied version. If you don’t like the
output of your life, change the input. Sow the right seeds and you will reap
the right harvest.
This same attitude works in business; successful people have
an obsession with customer service. They think about their customers all the
time. They are continually looking for new and better ways to serve their
customers better than anyone else. Brain Tracy says; “Your success in life will be in direct proportion to what you do after
you do what you are expected to do. Always look for opportunities to do more
than you are paid for. Always seek ways to go the extra mile for your
customers. Remember, there are never any traffic jams on the extra mile.”
Your commitment to service is the key to your next promotion.
The world celebrates people that make the world a better place by offering
exceptional service. Whatever you are called to do, go about your duties like
the lives of others depend on it. Look out for opportunities to go the extra
mile. Be diligent in going all the way.
Measure your success by how many lives you transform not the
amount of money you make. Stand out from the crowds and be exceptional. Serve from
your heart and there is no doubt that your service will touch the hearts of
other people. When all is said and done, you will only be remembered for the
services you rendered that transformed the lives of others and impacted the
communities you served. That is what legacy is all about and that is what
winning in life means.
