We each love and aspire to be successful in the things that
we do. It is a good feeling when you win at something and that feeling is
addictive I must say. It can place in a position where you only focus on your
wins and in so doing become oblivious of the success of the people around you.
We all want to be celebrated so learning to celebrate others is a key to becoming
irresistible.
When the job market is competitive or you feel like your
income falls short, there are times when we might think to ourselves, Why don’t
I have the same status, money or success as that person? But think for a minute
how good it would feel if you were just as happy for another’s success as your
own.
Adopting a praising and loving attitude will help you bask
in the success of those you know and with whom you feel a personal connection.
This might be difficult at times, but it’s a great way to help us lead more
positive lives and get more in return. Learn the benefits and see how your
attitude shift can boost your well-being.
If we celebrated others’ success as if it were our own, we
could feel a huge surge in positivity and joy, which can lead to greater
optimism. If you master generating genuine happiness for other people, not
only will you find a cure for the envy, which can sabotage your success. When you see
another person’s win as a loss for you, you pave the way for discouragement and
resentment to set in. Instead allow other people’s success to ignite hope for
the success coming in your time of harvest.
Rejoicing with others creates an opportunity to multiply the
good times you get to celebrate. By seizing every chance to sincerely
congratulate others on their success, you are creating an atmosphere for others
to be willing to celebrate your successes. Healthy relationships involve
sharing both ups and downs. People are more likely to respond positively to you
if they sense that you’re truly happy for them.
Charity starts at home and so should the celebration. It
might be difficult to get instantly excited about the lives of strangers.
However, you can start by focusing on the people closest to you. For example,
cheer with enthusiasm when your cousin wins an award, your brother gets a
promotion, or a friend successfully closes a deal. When you find the techniques
that work with the people you love, you can use those same strategies with more
challenging opportunities.
By being courageous and selfless enough to embrace others’
success, we also get the benefit of greater satisfaction. Not only does your
inner circle of affiliations grow with others’ success, but you can also
potentially find personal success. The difference between a successful person
and others is not a lack of strength, nor a lack of knowledge, but a lack of
will. Our own will can be awakened, in turn, when we see the success of others.
So the next time someone you know gets great news, don’t
hate celebrate with them. Remember, you reap what you sow: You can look forward
to welcoming more joy into your own life as you celebrate other people’s
success.
