It is impossible to love and not give while on the other hand we can give without necessarily loving. Greater love knows non than this, that a man lay down his life for another.
To genuine love involves going extra miles even when you are not asked to do so. It is laying down your life for the service and betterment of others. It is a culture that has long been lost but can certainly be rediscovered in this day and age.
Sacrificial love is self-sacrifice with the pure motivation to alleviate the suffering of others. This supreme love is suffering love, love that requires involvement in the problems of the world, love that bears with the failings and weaknesses of others, love that is committed to helping others regardless of the cost.
It can be extremely difficult to practice sacrificial love. You must understand that you cannot merely stop doing selfish things without replacing them with sacrificial actions. The only way to permanently break bad habits is to replace them with good ones. Even though we might be convinced that sacrificial love will transform our relationships, we still struggle with selfishness and fear.
You were created to live in great relationships, yet relational pain is the worst kind of pain in life. Only by living sacrificial love can we undo the damage that we have caused in our relationships. Being successful in loving others sacrificially requires a commitment beyond the current relationship.
When you think about this concept as a whole, it is overwhelming however when you deliberately choose to love on someone every day and at every opportunity you get, then it soon becomes a way of life. Love culture is not something we do once in a while but rather the way in which we choose to live our daily lives.
The world around us is hurting and many people are anxiously waiting for someone to love on them. If you can’t make it better then don’t dare make it once. Everyone is on a journey and the least we can do is make their load lighter in whichever way that we can. It is indeed more blessed to give than to receive.
Choose to become an ambassador of the love culture by loving sacrificially and unconditionally each day of your life. It is possible!
